Sweet 16! A very apt phrase for the 2019 U16 Provincial Championships. This category always has some exciting matches and it’s share of upsets too! Take for example London’s Kayla Cross. Even though Kayla still qualified for the U14 competition, she actually won both the U16 AND U18 Indoor Girls Singles Provincial titles – an amazing accomplishment! As with so many of the other categories, the U16’s is very deep in talent. Many of the players are already eyeing a US college scholarship and are on the radar of coaches south of the border. Ontario is the country’s hotbed of junior tennis and the U16 tournaments never disappoint! .
