2019 U14 Provincials

“That kid’s only 14!?” That’s a common question from spectators at the U14 Provincial Championships. It is incredible to watch these young athletes compete with such skill and poise when you realize how young they are. Their games are developed way beyond their years. Many of the top players have come through the ranks; winning at all levels on the way up, (i.e. U14 Outdoor Provincial Singles Champion Stefan Simeunovic from Oakville; who won the second-ever U9 Champions event 5 years earlier), while others, who might have benefited from an early growth spurt, suddenly burst on the scene to challenge the favourites. The result was many compelling competitive matches right from the first round. The eventual champions are truly deserving of the crown!
