March 2020
The 7th annual U10 Champions tournament was played at the Aviva Centre in Toronto over the Family Day weekend. 100 boys and girls competed in round robin play, followed by elimination draws. At stake was $10,000 in coaching bursaries. The two champions, Praneeth Pichika and Maya Gutkowski, will each receive $3,000 worth of private coaching over a two-year period, while the two finalists, Aedan Malik and Sophie Dement will receive $2,000 towards coaching over the same period. Watch out for these names in the years to come! Event founder and benefactor Murray Rubin and his wife Roda have donated more than $110,000 to the program since its inception in 2013.
